KDGF #13
Happy Love Month! January was long but in the best way - I got lots done, got into routine, and filled my days. February has also been 10/10 so far. Here's the latest...
What I’m Listening To: The Majority of Women Should Take Creatine on MindPump - this goes through all the myths around creatine that we have been told (particularly women) and discusses all the benefits. I have been taking this creatine for months and think it has definitely helped with muscle growth. It’s also supposed to be great for brain health and sleep.
What I’m Reading: Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. I loved the first two books of these series and was so excited to read the third! The series is fantasy about Violet, a cadet at a war college, who expected to be a scribe her whole life but is forced to join the Dragon Riders Quadrant. Great action and love stories. I really liked Onyx Storm, can’t believe the cliffhanger, and need the next one ASAP.
I only wish that I had re-read the other two before reading this one because I forgot SO much. I think with these action / fantasy books I rush through so I will probably go back and read all three this year at some point. Before you read, here’s a good mini recap (spoilers !!!).
What I’m Eating:

What I’m Cooking: I have been cooking up a storm so far this year and feeling very much reinvigorated with my meals! I’ve been loving these cottage cheese waffles on a WFH / weekend day (about 40-50g protein depending on toppings).
I also meal prepped this chicken salad and it is SO filling and yummy. I like it with tortilla chips or sourdough + greens.
Recipe:
1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
juice of 1 lime
1-2 cups celery, chopped
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup jalapeños
1/2 cup pickles
Salt and pepper
1/3 cup greek yogurt
1 tbsp mayonaise
What I’m Doing: Personal training (still)!! If you remember from my last update, I had just started with a personal training - the trainer that I worked with is new to it so it was very affordable just to get people in the door. I really liked having someone tell me what to do and the structure of the same two workouts a week and building on them. I will say he wasn’t THAT helpful in terms of pushing me, and I also don’t really want to be talk to anyone for an hour at 6AM twice a week. Now, I am working with my friend Bailey (her profile linked here) and she gave me a workout plan and meal guidance. I just did my first workout and loved it! Will be doing 1 lower body day, 1 upper body day, 1 full body (using AARMY for this) and a few days of pilates classes a week! I’m also pumped to be using my own music again lol. Here’s the Feb playlist:
What I’m Wearing:

These red Gap jeans are really good + $60 right now. Just got these Dolce Vita booties which are on sale and very comfy. I can't stop wearing this Beyond Yoga set (wearing this as I write this) (top + bottoms); also loving Set Active airluxe (top + leggings).
See you next time <3333
